RELENT
A downloadable game for Windows
Every game you've played has been lying to you.
Cooldowns to excuse your timing. Health bars to do your reading for you. A block button so you never had to know where your sword was.
RELENT takes all of it away. What's left is you.
Your blade deals damage where it actually is, moving as fast as you actually swung it. No attack windows. No stamina. No block. Defense is where you put your steel, and nothing else. When you win an exchange in this game, you won it — there is no system underneath to thank.
Speed is property here. Wall runs, wall jumps, slides, dashes — momentum is never handed out, only carried and spent. Watch someone chain a wall into a slide into a killing lunge and understand: they built that, piece by piece, and you're allowed to take it from them.
And there is no HUD. Your enemy's health is their aura guttering and their breathing turning ragged — if you're close enough to hear it, you're close enough to finish it. The score is written in the constellations overhead. (POTENTIALLY COMING) Look up. That's how the match is going.
3v3. Steal their case. Yours doesn't come home while it's in enemy hands — so go get the thief.
Most players' first match is a lesson. Stay for the second one.
